Money you lent out is still your money. Write it down the same day.
Lending to family and friends is normal here and rarely documented. The awkwardness is not in the lending, it is in the remembering, because six months later neither of you is certain of the amount.
Record it at the moment it happens: amount, date, who, and what it was for. Not to be suspicious, but because memory is genuinely unreliable and a written number spares both of you the negotiation later.
Do the same for money you borrowed. Being the one who forgets is worse than being the one who asks.
